Our List of Recommended Tools for Affiliate Marketing & More

This post is updated frequently as we uncover more tools. Last Updated September 2018

In this resource page, I want to share with you a list of 38 essential tools for affiliate marketing which I personally use for my business. Many of these tools are indispensable not just for me, but also for many other successful affiliate marketers.

If you are new to affiliate marketing and want to start your own affiliate marketing business for FREE, I have a Recommended Starter Package for you!

This list is far from complete and as time goes on, we will add (or remove) more.

Complete Transparency:

This page (and website) has affiliate links throughout the content. These links, if you click and purchase through them, will earn me a commission.

This commission is paid by the merchant, and is not added to the cost you pay. This is how I am able to run my site and pay for any costs involved.

If you do not wish to purchase the tools using my links, just enter the domain of the tool into Google to bypass my links.

If you do purchase using my links, I thank you from the bottom of my heart!

Get Started Today: Our #1 Recommendation

When it comes to affiliate marketing, or anything to do with making money online, the simpler the better! Our aim is to eliminate hours of endless research, and compile the information together in one list for your convenience.

At the end of the day, all you need to get started is:

  • A Website (recommended) to claim your virtual real-estate
  • A Training course to teach you everything you need to know
  • An Affiliate network that has the products / services that your niche demands

There are a handful of other very useful tools that make the entire process much faster, however, the above is all you need to get started.

SiteRubix takes website building to a completely new level by allowing you to turn your passion into a thriving Internet business. They have completely removed all technical aspects of building a website and provided an experience that allows you to be up and running within minutes.

Of course, there are many other hosting companies around like Bluehost (we use this also), but there are a couple reasons why we recommend SiteRubix for anyone starting out;

Amazon: Affiliate Partners & Programs

Amazon.com is one of the most common affiliate programs, and is the main program that promotes physical products. The commission is quite low compared to others, however, Amazon has a lot of trust and authority. This means a lot to a potential buyer who may be worried about buying products online.

Please note that when you first join the Amazon Affiliate program, you are given a time frame to make your first sale. Failure to make a sale will result in your affiliate account being terminated. You can however reapply.

Be sure to read the Terms & Conditions of the affiliate program because, and I say this without the intention to scare you, but Amazon pulls no punches when it comes to removing you from its program for any breaches, and they will withhold your funds!

Of course, there are many other affiliate programs (mainly for digital products) available, however, I will list a handful below:

  1. ClickBank
  2. JvZoo
  3. ShareASale
  4. Commission Junction
  5. MarketHealth
  6. OfferVault

Recommended Google Tools:

Google is the largest search engine in the world so it makes sense that they have a few tools to use when it comes to your website. The following list is some (not all) of the tools I use in my business.

Google Analytics:

This great tool allows you to track how people are using your site, and displays a lot of very useful information.

You can monitor things like:

  • How many people visit your site every hour, day, week, etc
  • How many different pages they visit
  • How long they spend on your site

All this information is very handy because it helps you get a feel for the behavior of your visitors.

For example, if they only visit one page of your website, and they are only on it for 10 seconds, this tells you (and Google), that the information displayed on your site was not relevant to what the visitor was searching for.

By tweaking certain aspects of your website, you can better serve your visitors, convert more sales, and get more “ranking power” from big Googs.

Google Search Console:

Google Search Console is another great FREE tool offered by Google to help webmasters with a number of tasks. Google summarizes the tool as follows:

Google Search Console is a free service offered by Google that helps you monitor and maintain your site’s presence in Google Search results. You don’t have to sign up for Search Console for your site to be included in Google’s search results, but doing so can help you understand how Google views your site and optimize its performance in search results

Some of the features are:

  • Make sure that Google can access your content
  • Submit new content for crawling and remove content you don’t want shown in search results
  • Create and monitor content that delivers visually engaging search results
  • Maintain your site with minimal disruption to search performance
  • Monitor and resolve malware or spam issues so your site stays clean

We use Google Search Console with all of our sites because we believe its a valuable tool and as time progresses, you will unlock more ways to use this tool to increase the performance of your website.

Google Adsense:

Google Adsense is a way to make money from displaying ads on your website. Google will pay you for anyone who clicks any of these ads. The payment is low, however it all adds up!

Here is a summary pulled from Wikipedia:

Google AdSense is a program run by Google that allows publishers in the Google Network of content sites to serve automatic text, image, video, or interactive media advertisements, that are targeted to site content and audience. These advertisements are administered, sorted, and maintained by Google. They can generate revenue on either a per-click or per-impression basis.

To make a lot of money through Adsense you need to be generating a lot of traffic. There are times where we wouldn’t advise the use of Google Adsense, we will talk about this further at a later date. Keep in mind, that there are some websites that are purely monetized with Google Adsense because of how lucrative it is (and can be).

Google Suite:

The Google Suite of Tools is summarized as a full suite of productivity tools to help business owners. While they offer free tools, there is a more robust, premium option for business owners. The free tools are fine when starting out.

Wiki summarizes G Suite below:

G Suite (formerly Google Apps for Work and Google Apps for Your Domain) is a brand of cloud computing, productivity and collaboration tools, software and products developed by Google, first launched on August 28, 2006 as “Google Apps for Your Domain”.[1] G Suite comprises Gmail, Hangouts, Calendar, and Google+ for communication; Drive for storage; Docs, Sheets, Slides, Forms, and Sites for collaboration; and, depending on the plan, an Admin panel and Vault for managing users and the services.

One thing we highly recommend is utilizing the cloud storage space (google drive), and the other apps like Google Docs, Google Sheets. Any work you do will be stored on the cloud and you will be able to access your work from anywhere. All you need to do is log into your Google account and start work!

If you are looking to take the leap and purchase the premium version of G Suite, you can do so through this link (or the button below). Yes, I will get a referral commission if you join, so to say thank you, let me know here, and I’ll throw in a bonus.

You also get 20% off your first year using this link, so even more savings!

Google Trends:

Google trends is a site that lets you know what is trending around the world. This is a great tool to use when looking for a niche. It can tell you things like:

  • What countries the niche is most popular
  • Related queries (great for keyword research)
  • Related industries
  • Historical growth of a niche

I find this information valuable. Nothing worse than dedicating a lot of time into a niche that’s dying a slow death. Kinda like putting gas into a car with no engine LOL.

Recommended WordPress Tools:

WordPress is our CMS (content management system) of choice. Why? Because its so damn user friendly! WordPress powers over 26% of the ENTIRE internet. It is the most popular CMS, it dominates Google search results with over 583,000,000 results, and is available in 62 languages.

Divi Theme:

Divi is currently my favorite theme (and part of the bonus I give to my wealthy affiliate referrals), because its just so easy to use, and you can literally build any kind of website.

Some of the features are:

  • Mobile responsive
  • Built in features that remove the need for some plugins
  • Drag and drop visual builder
  • Lots of free premade layouts
  • Fantastic support
  • Frequently updated
  • Fast & secure

This is a paid theme, and personally I feel its well worth it.

You don’t have to choose a premium theme when starting. If you can’t afford this theme, you can get a free copy by becoming a wealthy affiliate member using any of my WA promotional links.

If you don’t want to join WA through me, or at all (which is fine), just make sure you choose a theme that is updated regularly and you should be fine.

Recommended Productivity Tools:

Working from home is a lot harder than you’d think. It takes a lot of self discipline to get out of bed (optional), grab your laptop and starting working. Stop laughing…. It really is! There are a few tools I use everyday to keep me on track, steadily progressing towards a goal.

Trello:

Trello is something I use to organize my own tasks, and the tasks of my assistants. This way everyone knows what they need to do, and when to complete it by.

Some features of Trello are:

  • Custom backgrounds
  • You can incorporate other apps like IFTTT, Google Drive etc
  • Create teams for you and your assistants
  • Color coding, custom backgrounds and labels
  • One month Gold membership for every referral

There are different types of memberships. I have not really found a need to buy a membership because the free version does everything I need it to do. Besides, I get gold membership for every free referral, so I would recommend you do the same if you have the opportunity.
